Aberdeenshire Council has taken a significant step towards innovative rent management and tenant support with the adoption of Mobysoft’s cutting-edge RentSense system.

The local authority’s decision to utilise RentSense comes amidst the challenges posed post pandemic and the ongoing cost of living crisis, with the council proactively seeking solutions to ensure sustainable tenancies and targeted support for its tenants during the current economic uncertainty.

The RentSense system, developed by Mobysoft, uses artificial intelligence and data science to analyse trends and payment patterns from across 2 million social tenancies to enable landlords to offer an ultra-early intervention approach.

It is this functionality that allows Aberdeenshire Council to identify potential rent payment issues at the earliest stage, ensuring that appropriate support and advice can be quickly targeted and prioritised for those in need.

This approach aligns perfectly with Aberdeenshire Council’s commitment to maintaining sector-leading performance while adapting to the changing needs of its widely dispersed rural property portfolio and an ever-increasing and complex caseload.

Speaking about the decision to invest in RentSense, Andrew Mackie, Tenancy Services Housing manager at Aberdeenshire Council, said: “After an extensive research period, we found that RentSense offered a solution to meet our unique requirements, and the comprehensive system support and best practice provided by Mobysoft were invaluable in our decision-making process.”

Ahead of investing in the RentSense platform, Aberdeenshire Council engaged in productive discussions with existing RentSense users both within Scotland and across the UK.

The insights and experiences shared by other authorities helped in further affirming the benefits of the RentSense system for the organisation’s specific needs.

Paul Evans, Mobysoft CEO, commented: “We are really pleased to be working in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council and are looking forward to getting them live and part of our RentSense Scottish customer User Community, to help enable them to maintain their performance and help those tenants in need.”

Aberdeenshire Council are the seventh social landlord to invest in RentSense in 2023.
