Hoult says she is “truly honoured and humbled” to be elected and paid tribute to her fellow candidates.

“All the candidates were deserving this year and we should be proud that we have such good talent within the CIH,” she said.

“With a passion for professionalism, equity and a dedication to nurturing young talent I am really excited to get stuck in supporting Jill [Murray] in her excellent campaign promoting membership. Thank you for your trust and encouragement.”

Hoult officially becomes vice president in October following the the CIH’s annual general meeting; until then she is the vice president elect.

She will serve alongside Jill Murray who succeeds Lara Oyedele as president of the CIH.

Geraldine Howley, chair of the CIH’s governing board, said: “As a dedicated and truly passionate housing professional, I am looking forward to welcoming Elly to our presidential team in October.
