Platform Property Care – a subsidiary of Platform Housing Group – has signed a new grounds maintenance contract covering Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

The property maintenance company has announced it will be delivering the service to customers of another social housing provider, Stonewater.

This new partnership – which began earlier this month – will benefit more than 6000 people in Cheltenham, Pershore, Leominster, Shrewsbury, Tewkesbury, Cirencester, Stroud, Gloucester, Hereford, Ross on Wye, Lydney, Tenbury Wells and Stourport on Severn.

It is hoped the contract will extend to providing tree surveys later on in the year.

Platform has mobilised a dedicated crew to deliver the new contract, including a grounds maintenance delivery manager, two crew leaders and six operatives.

It is hoped an apprentice will join the team early next year.

Platform Housing Group and Stonewater have a well established relationship; Platform Property Care delivered another Stonewater contract last year, which saw Platform Property Care operatives carrying out repairs works, empty property works and electrical installation condition reports across Stonewater properties in the rural West.

This latest contract is testimony to the joint relationship between the two organisations.

Simon Harris, Operations manager at Platform Property Care said: “We are thrilled to be able to announce this latest partnership working with Stonewater.

“Delivering grounds maintenance services is a real asset to any community and we look forward to Stonewater customers enjoying the benefits.”

Susie Williams, Strategic Partnership manager at Stonewater added: “I’m really pleased to see our partnership with Platform continues to grow, utilising our Cost Sharing Vehicle (CSV) and expanding into further work streams for the benefit of all our customers.

“The addition of grounds maintenance is really important for us, allowing us to have well kept, presentable communal areas that also compliment the other services Platform Property Care are successfully delivering for us and we look forward to developing the relationship further.”

Platform Housing Group’s operating area is from Herefordshire in the West to the Lincolnshire coast in the East, and from the Derbyshire Dales in the North to the Cotswolds in the South.

Stonewater is a social housing provider managing around 34,500 homes in England for more than 76,000 customers, including affordable properties for general rent, shared ownership and sale, alongside specialist accommodation.

It covers the South, South East, South West, Midlands and Yorkshire.
