Riverside has delivered a £4.2m regeneration scheme in London comprising nine shared ownership homes and a package of upgrade works for the existing 22 social housing properties and communal areas in the adjacent block.
The completion of the regeneration scheme comes after consultation with existing residents living at Gillan Court, a Greater London Authority grant of £315k for the shared ownership homes, and planning approval from the London Borough of Lewisham.
The existing homes received new kitchens, front doors, and landscaping; as well as an upgraded foyer with a video door entry system and new flooring in communal areas.
The nine new homes are a mix of three two-bedroom apartments, one two-bed, and five three-bedroom houses.
They all have private outdoor amenity space; either as a garden, roof terrace, or balcony.
Nathan Gravesande, director of Development and Regeneration (London South) for Riverside, said: “This project, along with the other regeneration schemes in the pipeline, demonstrates our commitment to tackling the shortage of affordable homes, while continuing to invest in our existing homes and communities, ultimately improving the quality of life for our residents.”
Deputy mayor for Housing and Residential Development Tom Copley said: “The mayor and I are delighted to be providing grant funding for the nine new shared ownership homes for first time buyers at Gillan Court.
“Projects like this form a key part of the mayor’s plan to continue building a fairer and more prosperous London for everyone.”
