Hart Homes, a joint venture between Watford Community Housing and Watford Borough Council, has announced the completion of 86 new homes in the heart of Watford.

Situated on the Holywell, ‘The Letterpress’ comprises 6 three-bedroom flats, 43 two-bedroom flats and 37 one-bed flats for a mixture of social rent, affordable rent, shared ownership and outright sale.

The modern development is complete with balconies, private and visitor parking spaces, electric car charging points, landscaped gardens and bicycle storage, and its completion marks the second of three stages of construction.

Elected Mayor Peter Taylor officially opened the development with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony and was accompanied on a tour of the site by representatives of both Watford Community Housing and contractor, Bugler Developments.

Speaking at the event, Elected Mayor Peter Taylor said: “These homes will make a wonderful addition to Watford.

“They are well designed, come ready for modern living with electric charging points and most importantly will provide affordable rent as well as affordable ownership.

“The Letterpress development shows just how important it is that we work together with our partners so we can build the homes we really need here in Watford.”

Tina Barnard, chief executive of Watford Community Housing, commented: “We’re so proud of the hard work that has gone into creating these beautiful homes that will serve residents for many years to come.

“This is exactly the sort of progressive partnership working that we envisioned when we formed our joint venture with Watford Borough Council, and we look forward to collaborating further to benefit Watford’s communities.”

Andy Bugler, Bugler Group CEO, added: “It was great to celebrate the completion alongside the Mayor of Watford, council representatives and our client, Watford Community Housing.

“As a Rickmansworth-based business, we have a long history of delivering high quality homes for communities across Hertfordshire, and for Watford Community Housing, of which Croxley View is the latest.

“On behalf of the team, I wish new residents many happy years in their new homes.”

Stage 3 of the Croxley View development is currently in the planning application stages but Hart Homes hopes to begin construction in mid-2023.
