Contractor Osborne has announced the appointment of Mark Hoyland as its new group chief executive.

Mark, who currently serves as the group CEO of Orbit, is set to join the Osborne in early 2023.

He brings with him senior leadership experience across development, construction, housing, maintenance, and property services.

Andrew Osborne, chair of Osborne, said: “Mark’s extensive experience, alongside his passion for the customer and commitment to the built environment, complements the Osborne vision.

“As group chief executive, he will lead the group and develop our strategic focus on sustainability, energy efficient design and development.”

Mark’s previous roles include managing director of Balfour Beatty Engineering Services and chief executive at CityWest Homes.

Mark has also served as a non-executive director at Dolphin Square Foundation.

His early career was spent with Wimpey Construction.

‘Huge opportunity ahead’

Commenting on his new role, Mark said: “I am delighted to be joining Osborne. It is a group with a strong heritage and reputation, clear commitment to the customer, and deeply embedded values.

“Osborne has a huge opportunity ahead with the ability to successfully grow each part of the group.

Andrew added: “With Mark’s appointment, Dave Smith will step down as Interim group chief executive in early 2023.

“Dave will continue to play an important role in our future as a member of our group board, and I would like to thank him for his outstanding effort in leading the group over the last year and for his ongoing commitment and support.”
